PLC Program Development

We work with many different types of PLCs that run ladder logic, state machines, C and Basic. Ladder logic has been the prevalent PLC programming language for more than a few decades. A language/feature that is gaining in popularity is state programming. Ladder logic is not a good language for sequencing. It is much easier to model a complex system using event driven state charts. Plus, a properly designed state machine is easier to modify and extend. So, we try to use a brand of PLC that supports state programming when we are implementing a complex control system.
